"Bear Run" Joins Roanoke River Partners
Canoe/Camping Trail

Roanoke River Partners (RRP) has opened another canoe/camping platform to boaters. "Bear Run",the fourth in a series of platforms and campsites along the Roanoke, is located just off the river near Plymouth.  It was named "Bear Run" because of the "evidence" of bears nearby.

"Bear Run", like each of its three predecessors, offers a slightly different camping experience in the habitats of the Roanoke. The spacious camping area is over 20 x 20 feet with two large stepping platforms rising up to the camping platform from a very long boardwalk — especially useful during low water. (Note the "privy" located along the boardwalk in photo above.)

Left, enjoy the view from the large dock (fishing, anyone?).

For more information or to reserve a platform for camping or day use, call 252-794-6501 or click here to visit the Roanoke River Partners website.  To see article and photos about "Cypress Cathedral", RRP's third platform, click here.
