A Rockfish Season to Remember |

Chad Hardison (left) and his brother Josh,
who live on the Roanoke near Jamesville, like to get a little early
morning fishing in before school starts--especially during rock
season. That's what they were doing when this monster hit their
line. Their net proved too small so the two had to resort to their hands. And it wasn't easy.
Chad and Josh took the giant fish to class
where it was a big hit with fellow students and staff at Jamesville High
School. The big rock measured 39 inches long. Since the local
boat ramp scale only goes to 26 pounds, it was "unofficially
estimated" to weigh around 30 to 32 pounds. No exaggeration needed
here!
