Roanoke River Basin Regional Council
(Click above for organization's official web site.)
Each major river basin in the Albemarle–Pamlico National Estuary Program (APNEP) region contains a Regional Council comprised of elected and appointed county and municipal officials; representatives from agriculture, silviculture, commercial and recreational fishing, conservation, environmental science, business/industry and tourism groups. The state of Virginia is represented on two RCs. Regional Councils provide a forum for public, special interests and local government involvement.
